Brands Hatch — Executing a textbook strategy under high stakes, Wera Alliance Racing Academy driver Joe Marshall secured the 2026 Porsche Carwow Sprint Challenge GB championship at Brands Hatch, capping off a remarkable campaign defined by tactical discipline, sheer pace, and consistency.

Representing Team Parker Racing and the Wera Alliance Racing Academy, Marshall entered the season finale with a clear objective: execute the game plan and secure the title.

Qualifying & Race 1: Cold Conditions, Cool Head

The finale opened strongly as Marshall secured front-row starts across the board, qualifying P2 for both Race 1 and Race 2.

In cold track conditions for Race 1, managing tyre temperatures off the line was key. Marshall got a flying start, building instant tyre warmth to sweep into the lead through Turn 1. After a spirited battle at the front, a small mistake allowed P2 back into the lead. Recognizing the bigger championship picture, Marshall opted against an aggressive counter-attack, settling into a comfortable second place to claim crucial points.

Race 2: Controlled Pace and Safety Car Restart

Race 2 produced another head-to-head sprint off the line, with Marshall running side-by-side into Turn 1 before smartly slotting in behind the leader to avoid taking unnecessary risks. The front two pulled away from P3 before a prolonged Safety Car deployment neutralised most of the race. Left with a single-lap sprint restart at the finish, Marshall held firm to take another solid P2 finish, putting the title well within reach.

Race 3: Championship Sealed

With a top-four finish needed in Race 3 to guarantee the crown, Marshall launched off the line for a two-wide charge down Paddock Hill. Slotting into position behind the leader, he focused on rhythm and clean execution, stretching a two-second gap to P3 while mitigating risk. Despite a track limits warning with two laps remaining, Marshall remained unfazed, bringing the car across the line to be crowned the 2026 Champion.Historic Milestone for Team Parker Racing & Wera Academy

Marshall’s championship victory highlights an unprecedented achievement for Team Parker Racing, extending a streak where the team has won every single race since visiting Brands Hatch last year—a feat never accomplished before in the championship.

“We had a game plan coming into the weekend and executed it perfectly,” reflected Marshall. “A massive thank you to everyone at Team Parker Racing, all my partners, and everyone at Wera Tools and the Wera Alliance Racing Academy. It still hasn’t sunk in yet, but we are the 2026 Champions!”

Qualifying

Wera Alliance Racing Academy driver Joe Marshall displayed competitive pace throughout testing at Silverstone and carried that momentum into qualifying. Narrowly missing out on pole position by just 0.052 seconds, Marshall secured a P2 starting position for both Race 1 and Race 2.

Race 1

Marshall launched off the line with a lightning start, immediately applying pressure to the race leader. He attempted a pass going into Brooklands, but after unable to make the move stick, settled into P2 to claim a podium finish while setting the fastest lap of the race.

Race 2

Prioritizing rear tyre preparation on the formation lap, Marshall executed another strong launch at the start. After pushing hard early in the race to mount a challenge for the lead, tyre wear and a track limits warning required a controlled approach for the remainder of the stint, crossing the line in P2 for his second podium of the event.

Race 3

A rain shower just before the cars took to the track created challenging conditions for the final race. Despite a sub-optimal launch off the line, Marshall closed down the gap to the leader and began applying heavy pressure until a late Safety Car deployment halted his charge.

Weekend Summary

It was a solid points-scoring weekend for Marshall and the team, collecting trophies across the races and preserving the championship lead with only one round remaining in the season.

Thanks to Team Parker Racing the Wera Alliance Racing Academy and all my supporting partners.

What should have been a flawless headline weekend in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Cup GB at Croft Circuit instead delivered a drama-filled masterclass in raw pace, resilient wheel-to-wheel battles, and the brutal sting of track-limit penalties.

Qualifying: Setting the Stage
The tone was set early during Saturday’s qualifying session. Armed with a setup tuned to absolute perfection by the crew, the car was planted, providing the ultimate confidence to lean on the limits through Croft’s technical twists. Pushing flat-out, a flying lap landed just 0.100s shy of pole position—locking down a front-row start in P2 and setting up a thrilling weekend ahead.

Race 1: Precision at Turn 4
When the lights went out for Race 1, the launch off the line was immediate and relentless. Applying heavy pressure through the opening corners, the decisive maneuver came with a brave move into Turn 4, snatching the race lead. Despite non-stop pressure from behind throughout the distance, a defensive clinic ensured the car crossed the finish line in P1 to claim a brilliant victory.

Race 2: Triumph and Heartbreak
Prioritizing rear tire warmth on the formation lap paid massive dividends for Race 2. A rocket launch off the line secured the lead before Turn 1, laying the foundation for what appeared to be a flawless lights-to-flag victory.

However, post-race controversy struck. Despite maintaining the exact same lines and approach used throughout Qualifying and Race 1, a controversial track-limits penalty stripped away the win. The ruling was the dominant talking point of the paddock all weekend, serving as a harsh reminder of the fine margins in modern motorsport.

Race 3: The Fightback
Relegated to a P4 starting position for Race 3 as a result of the penalty, the objective was clear: charge forward while walking a razor-thin line with track limits.

Wasting no time, relentless pressure was applied to the battle for third place. Replicating the textbook move from Race 1, a clean pass was executed into Turn 4 to secure P3. From there, it was a matter of managing the pace, keeping all four wheels strictly within the lines, and bringing the car safely home onto the podium.

Eyes on Silverstone
While the raw results don’t fully reflect the performance, the driver and team proved themselves as the fastest package on the grid. With unmatched race pace, stellar teamwork, and a double podium under the belt, the momentum now shifts toward Silverstone for the next round.

KNOCKHILL, SCOTLAND — Championship leader Joe Marshall put on a defensive and offensive masterclass across three action-packed races at a treacherous Knockhill Racing Circuit this weekend, coming away with a hat-trick of second-place finishes.

While Marshall’s staggering six-race winning streak—a run that stretched to nine consecutive victories when counting last season’s performances—finally came to an end, his heroic damage limitation on Scottish soil keeps him firmly at the summit of the standings with just three rounds remaining.

Qualifying: Fine Margins on the Front Row

The tone for the weekend was set early in qualifying, where speed was abundant but the margins were razor-thin. Marshall pushed his machine to the absolute limit around the tight, undulating circuit, only to miss out on pole position by a agonizing 0.065 seconds.

The lap was claimed by his teammate Joshua Rodgers, lining up a front-row lockout that guaranteed a tense inter-team battle heading into the opening races.

Race 1: Pressure Cooker at Duffus Dip

Launching off the line for Race 1, Marshall got a lightning getaway but Rodgers covered it forcing Marshall to bide his time.

As the laps ticked down, Marshall chipped away at the gap, setting matching times and keeping the pressure on the leader. Though he crossed the line just shy of the top step to take P2, it was a commanding 1-2 sweep for the team.

Race 2: Survival and Attack in the Scottish Rain

By the time the grid reassembled for Race 2, the Scottish weather had turned completely, leaving the circuit soaking wet.

The Start: Excessive wheelspin off the line saw Marshall immediately under attack, forcing him onto the defensive into Turn 1 and handing the leader a vital gap of several car lengths.

The Safety Car: A mid-race neutralisation bunched the field back together, handing Marshall a lifeline.

The Restart: Marshall timed his jump perfectly, launching an immediate attack into Turn 1, but ultimately couldn’t pry open a gap on the wet tarmac, bringing home another strong P2 result.

Race 3: All-Out Attack for a Podiums Hat-Trick

Knowing the opening laps offered the best chance for victory Marshall gave it all he could when the lights went out but he couldn’t find the way through.

That initial charge came at a heavy cost. The early aggression degraded Marshall’s tires, forcing him to switch to management mode in the closing stages. Despite running on faded rubber, he nursed his machine home to secure his third 2nd-place finish of the weekend.

The Championship Picture

While all good streaks must eventually come to an end, Marshall’s trip to Fife was a masterclass in championship management. Taking home a massive haul of points on a weekend where conditions varied from bone-dry to torrential rain proves why he wears the leader’s badge.

With three rounds remaining on the calendar, Marshall leaves Scotland with a solid points cushion, full control of the title.

Joe Marshall enjoyed a dream weekend at Oulton Park, securing three victories from three races in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB and further strengthening his championship challenge with a dominant display at his home circuit.

The weekend got off to the perfect start in qualifying. With the track caught between wet and dry conditions, Marshall and the team made the bold decision to switch onto slick tyres. While conditions remained challenging, the gamble paid off as the circuit dried just enough in the closing stages, allowing Marshall to claim double pole position for the weekend’s races.

Starting from pole for Race One, Marshall focused on generating tyre temperature ahead of the start and executed the plan perfectly. A strong getaway allowed him to establish a gap of over three seconds before a Safety Car period erased his advantage. Unfazed by the interruption, Marshall produced another excellent restart and controlled the race to the chequered flag, securing his first victory of the weekend.

Race Two saw an even more commanding performance. Reacting instantly when the lights went out, Marshall launched away from the line and built a 1.2-second advantage by the end of the opening lap. Carefully balancing outright pace with tyre management, he continued to extend his lead throughout the race. Crossing the finish line over eight seconds clear of the field, Marshall not only claimed his second win of the weekend but also set a new lap record in the process.

The final race of the weekend delivered more of the same. Another lightning-fast start gave Marshall immediate control at the front, allowing him to build a six-second cushion over his rivals. A late Safety Car once again brought the pack back together, but a perfectly judged restart ensured he quickly re-established his advantage. Marshall went on to take his third victory from three races while also recording the fastest lap, completing a flawless weekend at Oulton Park.

The clean sweep of pole positions, race victories, fastest lap honours and a new lap record underlined Marshall’s pace and consistency across the weekend, delivering one of the most dominant performances of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season so far.

Reflecting on the achievement, Marshall said:

“What we are achieving this year as a team is something incredible and a testament to everyone for their hard work.

To share moments like this at my home circuit with friends, the team, family and my incredible Wera family is something I will truly remember forever. So thank you so much to everyone.

LET’S KEEP PUSHING!”

Leaving Oulton Park with maximum points and unstoppable momentum, Marshall now turns his attention to the next round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season determined to continue his outstanding run of form. He is also now holds the record amount of wins in the championship since it started (12) and it currently on a 9 race winning streak going back to the end of last season!

Next up Knockhill in August.

Joe takes us through his weekend:

Qualifying P4/P2 – We were looking good sitting P1 during qualifying as we went onto the second set of tyres we hit traffic at the wrong point of the track which meant we couldn’t improve but I was confident we had a fast race car !

Race 1 P4 > P1– A lighting start and a bold move round the outside of turn 1 put us in a good spot to challenge the front two and that’s exactly what we did ! We pulled of another great overtake to take P2 and started to chase down the leader putting him under lots of pressure during the closing stages of the race, a little mistake going into coppice and we snuck up the inside and took the checkered flag in P1

Race 2 P2 >P1– We didn’t get the best start of the line but we held P2 going into turn 1 and started to hunt the leader down, I saw that the leader had a 5 second penalty for a jump start so it was just a case of not risking anything and finishing within 5 seconds ! 💥

Race 3 P1 > P1– Starting on the cleaner side of the track we got away like a scolded cat and never looked back , we started to pull a nice gap to P2 but once the safety car came out we all got bunched back up , the restart was perfect and we pulled a 1 second lead and started to extend but the red flag came out cutting the race short

Overall it has been a dream start to the weekend 3 races 3 wins and 6 in a row ! The team has been phenomenal and the support over the weekend from everyone has been amazing ! A huge congratulations to my academy teammates with their results as well WERA is well and truly ON TOP

A massive thankyou to my Partners this year aswell because without them I wouldn’t be doing what I love most

Joe Marshall is looking to challenge for the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB title as he continues with the Wera Alliance Racing Academy and Team Parker Racing in 2026.

After a strong 2025 season, that culminated in a hat trick of victories in the final round of the championship at Brands Hatch GP circuit, Joe is hoping to bring that form into his 2026 campaign with the title firmly in his sights.

Talking about his 2026 hopes Joe had this to say –

“I’m super excited to go into my second year as a Wera Alliance Racing Academy driver. We had some amazing results last year, built up some great relationships with the Wera family and I can’t wait to get going for 2026!”

Alliance Racing Team Principal Pete Osborne had this to say on Joe retuning to the Academy in 2026:

“Its great to have Joe on board for another season in the Wera Alliance Racing Academy racing and for another year in the Porsche Sprint Challenge. He came so close to taking the title in his debut season, last year, with multiple victories throughout the season. We are looking forward to seeing him challenge again this season.”

Team Parker racing boss Stuart Parker is pleased Joe is returning for the 2026 season and had this to say:

“Joe was one of the revelations of the championship last year and only narrowly missed out on the title, so it’s definitely a case of unfinished business. He was on the podium more than any other driver and finished the year in really strong form, so I’m hoping we can pick up where we left off for this season.”

Here is Joe’s thoughts on the race weekend.

What a unbelievable weekend in the final round of the Porsche sprint challenge.

Qualifying was wet and dry and we were the first to jump onto the slick tyres which gave me the confidence to push through the GP loop during the end of the session and we ended up with double pole !

Race 1- an amazing start gave me a 2.5 second lead on lap one and after that it was head down qualifying laps after qualifying laps and we ended the race with a 11 second lead and fastest lap ! “the biggest margin in sprint challenge”

Race 2 – I really focused on getting good tyre temp to give me a good launch and that’s exactly what we did, we finished the race with a 6 second lead and fastest lap again !

Race 3 – The final race of the season did not disappoint with a lights to flag victory again and fastest lap although we had a safety car to deal with we still managed to pull a gap and top off a awesome weekend !

We just missed out on the championship by 4 points but we can hold our heads high by dominating the final round topping every practice session every qualifying and every race , I’m so proud of the team and everyone who has made this possible this year has been my best season in motorsport! To share those winning moments with Pete , Ian my mum the team and my Wera family was something that I will never forgot so thank you to everyone

This year has been incredible being apart of the Wera Alliance Racing Academy and the success that everyone has had so well done to everyone !
