Academy history
Each year, the Academy continues to develop and grow, and the results speak for themselves. In 2025 alone, our competitors secured more than 100 trophies across 11 different championships, a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work across the programme.
We have had a number of notable alumni including –
Theo Micouris
Following three successful years and championship wins in karting, Theo Micouris stepped up to the Hagerty Radical Cup UK in 2023. On his circuit racing debut, Micouris claimed victory at Donington Park, quickly proving his pace and race craft from the start.
Theo continued the rest of the season, racing in black and green, with the same consistency, determination, and pace. Heading into the final round of the Radical Cup with a 154-point lead, he secured the Overall and SR1 championships in his first season of circuit racing.
Theo’s success in the Radical Cup launched the next phase of his career, signing for Team Virage in the Ligier European Series for 2024. He continued his winning form and was crowned 2024 Ligier European Champion. In 2025, Theo remained with Team Virage and stepped up to the Michelin Le Mans Cup, competing in the LMP3 category and achieving podium finishes throughout the season.
We look forward to seeing how Theo’s career continues to develop in the years ahead.
Rachel Robertson
After just three years in competitive karting, Scottish driver Rachel Robertson took a major step in 2025 by entering the Radical Motorsport Scholarship, partnered by Wera Tools UK. Selected as one of six finalists, Rachel emerged as the overall winner and was awarded a seat with the Radical Racing Rebels Team, becoming a Wera – Alliance Racing Academy driver for the 2025 season.
Competing in the SR3 XXR, Robertson made an immediate impression. By only her second race weekend, she secured her first podium, demonstrating the skill and pace that she maintained throughout the season. She went on to finish third overall in the Radical Cup UK Championship.
As a result of Rachel’s performances and growing presence in motorsport, she soon caught the attention of the F1 Academy. Following a test in Spain, she was selected to compete in the final round of the Championship in Las Vegas, driving for TAG Heuer, where she secured a fourth-place finish on her debut.
Building on that momentum, Rachel has been selected to race in the 2026 F1 Academy Championship with Hitech, supported by Puma.
We wish her every success as she heads into the new season.
