Tandy stormed to pole position on both days of the S1 weekend, one held in very wet conditions, one in typical summer sunshine, the Academy driver showing his pace potential against the regular championship competitors.

Some fantastic racing on both days saw Felix take two heat victories, but also face some harder luck in the meeting finals to miss out on the top spots.

TKC Round 6

Qualifying        6th

Heat 1              Start     Finish

                        6th       3rd*

Heat 2              Start     Finish

                        6th       2nd

Final                Start     Finish

                        8th       2nd

With The Kart Championship staging it’s finale at one of Felix’s home tracks at Whilton Mill, the Bedfordshire driver took to the entry list with high hopes against a very competitive field of drivers.

A solid qualifying run was bettered in the heat races, with storming drives to second and third place finishes. However Tandy’s kart was found to be 200g underweight after heat 1, resulting in a place further down on the grid for the meeting final.

Undeterred, and with a spectacular opening lap for Tandy, another cracking micromax race took place, with the top three drivers in a fierce battle for the podium places – Tandy eventually coming home with a hard-fought second placed trophy.

Two very successful away weekends gives huge confidence for Felix’s push for the final rounds of his own championship battle coming soon.
