Wera Alliance Academy driver Nico Tye enjoyed a fantastic race weekend in Scotland, delivering a race win, podium finish, and multiple top-four results against strong competition.
At the Stock Car Summer Series at Knockhill Circuit, Nico competed as a Blue Grade driver, meaning he started near the back of the grid alongside the sport’s more experienced and accomplished racers-making his results even more impressive in front of a packed crowd.
Nico produced a sensational set of performances, charging from P25 to 4th, P26 to 3rd, and then an incredible P23 to race victory, capping the day with a memorable victory lap on the back of the race winners truck in front of the cheering Knockhill fans.
On Day Two at Cowdenbeath Racewall, Nico lined up against the regular Scottish drivers on their home circuit and continued his strong form, battling through from P21 to 4th and P20 to another 4th-place finish.
Adding to the weekend’s success was the invaluable support of older brother Nathan Tye, Wera Academy Ambassador, who flew back from a Formula 4 test in Spain to be trackside with Nico, stepping in as both mechanic and driver coach throughout the Scottish double-header.
Team Tye also praised the warm welcome received north of the border.
“A huge thank you to all the Scottish drivers, and supporters for making Nico feel so welcome. The sportsmanship and hospitality shown throughout the weekend were absolutely fantastic.”
With a race win, podium, and exceptional drives through the field, it was a hugely successful Scottish double-header for Nico Tye.
